About the event

Athleisure, Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Katniss Everdeen, Prince—nothing's off-limits for essayists. Personal essays often stem from nagging thoughts, feelings, memories, opinions, or questions. Those points of inspiration can often come from the popular culture that we encounter every day. In this course, we’ll discuss how writers combine pop culture, cultural criticism, and personal narrative. As we read example essays and review their techniques, students will engage in writing exercises and work on their own pop culture personal essays. Click Here to Register!
